The Scottish Open International Championships will be hosted by the S.K.G.B. and held on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th April 2007 at Meadowbank Sports Centre, Edinburgh.

The course will be presented by Terry Pottage 7th Dan and “World Karate Federation” Qualified Karate Official. Saturday 10.00am Theory input 12.00pm Lunch 1.30pm Kata Practical 4.30pm Course Closure
Sunday 10.00am Theory input 11.30am Theory Exam 12.30pm Lunch 1.30pm Kata Practical 3.30pm Kata Practical Exam
Course Closure Attendance at this course is Free. Karate Gi will be required.
Tea and Coffee will be provided.
Venue: The Holiday Inn Edinburgh is situated west of Edinburgh city centre. The venue offers excellent facilities and all officials who attend have access to the hotel leisure suit, restaurants,
bars and free parking, regardless if they choose to book a hotel room or not.
The seminar is open to all Karate officials who hold a current license with an association accredited to the SKGB.
Accommodation: The hotel offers excellent accommodation that can be booked by officials online.
Alternatively accommodation can be booked through the events manager, which offers cancellation security for £90.00 per room bed and breakfast.
The cost of accommodation will be left with officials who attend however they are reminded that their associations may wish to contribute to the cost.
The initial response to this course has already proved positive and persons who intend taking part are asked to confirm their attendance with Mark McCool SKGB Refereeing Commission Secretary as soon as possible.

SKGB Refereeing Program Karate Officials Training Course Kumite
Dear colleagues,
In line with our development program I can now confirm that the next Kumite course will be held on 26th November 2006 at the SKGB National Championships. Details of the Championships can be found on the SKGB website.
Doug James 7th Dan and “World Karate Federation” Qualified Karate Official will present the course. This will be a Practical based course and officials who are eligible will be considered for promotion.
Course Times coincide with the event times. Refreshment will be provided.
This course is open to all officials who hold a Karate License of an association affiliated to the SKGB regardless of their Officials Qualification.
Officials are asked to bring their SKGB Karate Officials Record Books, which are of course now mandatory. New officials will be able to apply for a Record Book on the day.
Officials Uniform is required.
No theory exam will be included in the course contents.
