Doug James will be presenting a refereeing course on Saturday 24th June at 10.00am within Holytown Community Education Centre in North Lanarkshire. The course if free to all who wish to attend.

  • The start time is at 1000hrs and will begin with a 2 hour theory session (there will not be a theory exam).
  • Lunch is at 1200hrs and a refreshment will be provided.
  • 1300 - 1500 will be a practical based input.

For that purpose I would like to invite you to bring students for the purposes of fighting during the practical exercise. The students will have access to a seperate hall and when not being used for the practical exercise it is hoped that they could turn this into an informal, all styles trainning session.( Bags, focus mits, pads etc will all be available.)

While numbers for the referreing course is not restricted, if you are able to provide students please reply to me with the numbers you intend bringing. Juniors are welcome however i would suggest no beginners.

Referees are asked to attend in refereeing uniform however if there are any new people who you would wish to attend casual dress will suffice.

Holytown community education centre is on Stevenson Street in Holytown. From the M8 leave at the junction sign posted for Chapplehall, Calderbank and Holytown. Eastbound, the junction after eurocentral, westbound, the junction after Newhouse. Down Holytown main street to the traffic lights and turn left. The building is 150 yards on the right hand side of the road. Car parking is directly accross the street in front.
