The SKGB are looking to appoint an Anti Doping Officer (ADO) whose responsibility over the next four years will be to implement and manage the policy and produce an action plan relating to the policy, liaise with the Board of Directors, Sports Director and Executive Administrator on the implementation of the plan.
The ADO will be produce progress reports to the Board of Directors and U.K. Sport.

Commonwealth Karate Championships 2011
Congratulations to
Scottish squad members Chloe Maclean, who won two Gold Medals, and
Lisa Cairns, who won a Bronze Medal at the Commonwealth Karate Games in
Sydney, Australia.
Chloe was placed 1st in the Female under 21 -53kg and Female Senior
-50kg categories.
Lisa was placed 3rd in the Female Senior -55kg.
Congratulations also to the other members of the Scotland Squad Aaron Horn
and Amanda Dundas who were placed 1st and 3rd in their respective events.

Safeguard and Protecting Children 2 workshop
The SKGB along with Sportscotland and Sports Coach UK will be holding a workshop on Safeguard and Protecting Children 2 on the 9th September 2011.
This workshop is for SKGB licensed coaches who have previously attended the first Safeguard and Protecting Children workshop.

Mr David Coulter was awarded his 7th Dan at the Scottish International Open Championship for his outstanding achievements as a competitor and as a national coach and his contribution to Scottish Karate.
Mr Danny Thomson was awarded his 8th Dan for his outstanding contribution to Scottish Karate.

Two new groups have joined the SKGB and have been granted provisional membership.
TSK Scotland and BCKA Scotland.
