Please find attached Bulletin regarding the Scottish International Open Championship to be held on the 4th & 5th April 2009.
Please note the following points
1- Face mask and body protection are not compulsory for 14/15yr old categories.
2- 14/15yr old and above will be by W.K.F. rules for both Kata and Kumite.(repocharge system)
3- Children under 14yrs will be on a knockout system for both kata and kumite (no repocharge)
4- Kata 14yrs and above W.K.F compulsory katas will apply

Development Program 2008-09
Officials Training Course
Dear Official,
In line with the refereeing commission development program 2008/09 and in prelude to the 5th Scottish International open to be held at Meadowbank on the 4th and 5th of April 2009, a Karate Officials Training Course will be held on Saturday 28th February 2009.
Venue
The training course will be in the Newhouse Hotel Edinburgh Road Newhouse North Lanarkshire from 10.00am till 1.00pm. The course is open to all officials who hold a current qualification at National level or who currently hold a qualification at Association level and who are seeking promotion to National level. This Course is not open to beginners.
Course Content
As I am sure you are aware of the new rules changes which are available by downloading from the WKF website, the course will concentrate primarily on the new rules for kumite.
Examination
Anyone who has not attained a pass in the theory exam within the last 2 years and who requires to sit and pass a theory exam in order to maintain their qualification will be afforded this opportunity. It should be noted that the exam questions will be taken from the standard bank of questions however, in line with the new rules, the answer to these questions may now have changed. Any such questions will be covered in the course before the exam.
Dress Code
All officials are asked to attend in WKF Referee’s uniform.
Refreshment
Tea and coffee will be available.
