The selections for the forthcoming European Junior Championships to be held in Turkey in February 2011, will be held in the Ratho Centre on Sunday 28th November from 10.30am to 2.30pm. The categories open for selectionare 14/15 years - 16/17yearsand 18 to under 21 years for both male and female. The followingc criteria will apply.

1. The session fee is £5.00

2. Everyone must bring along an up-to-date licence.

3. Everyone must make surethat they are in the weight group they are applying for.

4. The weight categories are as per WKF rules

5. If selected each individual or their association must be prepared to pay travel and hotel costs to the SKGB within a two week period.

(please note that all required payments must be with the SKGB Executive Administrator before flights and hotel costs are arranged.)

The SKGB along with Sportscotland and Sports Coach UK have organised an Equity in Sport workshop as part of the SKGB coach development programme.The workshop will be held on Friday 3rd December 2010.

1. Mubobi clarification

2. Zanshin clarification

3.General criteria for point scoring

4. Repecharge administration

5. Shitei Kata administration

6. Standardising Kata judgment

7.Kumite & Kata theory examinations for those requiring renewal/ update of qualifications

 

The above topics will be discussed with the aid of PowerPoint presentation and video footage.

The course is for existing officials and upcoming officials only

 

Official Referees uniform is mandatory and Karate Gi will not be required
